On Wednesday 12th April, Lorena Gaona, representing the FCV, participated in the “European Solidarity Corps Stakeholder Forum” held by the European Commission representation in Brussels, Belgium.
The event was the first official presentation of the new European Solidarity Corps -ESC program and brought together representatives of non-profit organizations and youth workers from very different sectors across Europe.
The ESC is expected to start to operate from 2018, and is generating much debate, as it appears to replace the already known European Voluntary Service – EVS in the future.
The program is still open to modifications, because as they transmitted, there is still much work to be done and many details to define.
The aim of the meeting was to give the opportunity for the participants to make proposals on how it should be and how should not be the new ESC program.
During the event three working groups were formed, and Lorena specifically participated in the group to discuss how the program should be to be attractive for young people and for the organizations.
