Every two years, the World Volunteer Association – International Association for Volunteer Effort – IAVE organizes the most important conference that, on volunteering, takes place around the world.

On this occasion, the conference will take place again in Europe and, more specifically, in the Bavarian city of Augsburg, Germany, from October 17 to 20.

This conference will involve experts from the volunteer sector in all the regions of the world, who throughout plenary sessions, forums and workshops will inform the results of their initiatives and present new practices, tools and inspirational experiences.

The conference is the ideal place to exchange experiences, meet the challenges and trends of the sector from a global perspective and an unbeatable opportunity to make new partnerships and alliances with other non-profit organizations and institutions.

Together with representatives of voluntary non-profit entities, national centers and voluntary platforms, at the conference they will be leaders of corporate volunteering programs, Universities and the public administration.

The 12 topics on which the sessions will be dedicated are the local and national leadership in the promotion of volunteering, the global challenges in light of the goals of sustainable development of the millennium, voluntary work for young people, corporate volunteering, impact measurement volunteering, faith-led volunteering, innovation in volunteering, the implications of demographic aging in volunteering, volunteering as a tool for inclusion and integration, volunteering and its political impact and volunteering for the civil protection and in emergency situations.

IAVE has received nearly 400 proposals for presentations.

In the last 15 years, only two have taken place in our beloved continent: in Barcelona, in 2004 and in London, in 2013.

The FCV and the predecessor organization (Barcelona Voluntària) participated in no less than 5 world conferences, in Delhi 2006, in India, in Panama 2008, in Singapore 2011 and in Mexico 2016, conducting papers in 4 of them (all except of Singapore). FCV managed the IAVE Yout Office in Catalonia for 3 years and co-organized two world youth conferences and youth forums at IAVE 3 regional conferences in Colombia, Taiwan and Lebanon.

On this occasion, the FCV will have the role of moderating one of the sessions, dedicated to youth volunteering.

Participating in the conference has a cost: travel, accommodation and registration fee for the conference.
