About participatory processes for young people and how to take them to Georgia

Between February 26 and March 1, the meeting for the launch of a new long-term project in which the Fundació Catalunya Voluntària-FCV collaborates took place. Coordinated by the Georgian entity Academy for Peace and Development, ‘Empower for Change’ is a project carried out by the Italian entity Sikanie, the Austrian Jugendzentrum Perg and the FCV, together with the municipalities of four municipalities in Georgia.

The objective is to strengthen the capacities of local structures to create participatory processes, creating synergies with international entities. In this way, we intend to develop projects that promote active citizenship and youth participation through the development of skills and thanks to the cooperation between Georgian youth and local authorities.

All this will be achieved in a two-year project, starting with this first meeting where communication strategies, dates and final details were agreed upon before starting this adventure. During these two years, an international training and two international seminars will take place. In addition, the FCV will host more than 10 local authorities in order to teach practical examples of how to improve collaboration between entities, municipalities and youth; we will also host six people for a job-shadowing; and, finally, dissemination activities and a final event will be organized to check the final results.

In any case, we are eager to start and share with you the whole process. For more information, or if you want to collaborate, do not hesitate to contact us at info@catalunyavoluntaria.cat.
