The Fundació Catalunya Voluntaria and the French organization ‘Centros de Entrainement aux Méthodes de Education Active’ – CEMEA are jointly preparing the second international training activity together.
It will take place in Vilanova I la Geltrú (Barcelona) and in various cities in the metropolitan area of Barcelona from 23 to April 3, 2025.
The group visiting us is made up of 16 students from the last year of leisure time animation, aged 20 to 50, accompanied by 2 teachers, who travel to Vilanova from Bourgogne (a region famous for mustard and wine), to enjoy an intense program of visits and workshops in order to learn about the functioning and pedagogical methodologies used by various structures for integration and socio-educational support for children, young people and adults, with special attention to the activities they offer to minors at risk of social exclusion and poverty, and to adults with functional diversity.
For the FCV, it is an excellent opportunity to collaborate once again with CEMEA, NGO active in all the French regions that offers training in sociocultural and non-formal learning and leisure-time education certified by the French education system, as well as with a small list of Catalan NGOs using non-formal and informal education as a key element to individual empowerment.
We are grateful to these NGOs for opening the doors of their respective spaces, centres, playgrounds to us, thus making known a small but significant part of how difficult and complex it is to offer socio-educational support to children, young people and adults in vulnerable situations.
We plan to collaborate with 4-5 NGOs and public bodies, and, based on their proposals, build an intense and balanced 12-day program of activities, in which the group of students will visit some of the most populated neighborhoods in Europe, in Hospitalet del Llobregat and Barcelona, and will enjoy the calm of the seaside neighborhood of Vilanova as well.
As in the previous practical training experience, the FCV is also co-responsible for the pedagogical aspect of the activity, the first one it organizes, by the way, with French and Catalan as official languages.
