  • Journey to the heart of the Balkans

    Kosovo (or Kosova) is a young country, full of contrasts and reminiscent of many civilizations that passed through there, but, nevertheless, with a very old language: Albanian.
    There are Albanians from Kosovo, Albania, North Macedonia, Serbia, Bosnia Herzegovina, and Montenegro. Many shared a story under the same flag of two eagles that see the world from a red sky; many different ethnic groups with the same linguistic culture.

    We are Ana, Angie, Cris, Marta and Rosa. Here we tell you about our experience participating in a youth exchange thanks to Fundació Catalunya Voluntària.
    In August 2022 we had the opportunity to travel to Amarante (Portugal) to participate in a youth exchange entitled “Huge minority: fight against discrimination! For 9 days we lived and learned with people from Portugal, France, Slovenia, Romania, Turkey, Italy and Poland. The exchange took place at the Casa da Juventude de Amarante, and we were able to stay in the same building.
