Study Visit for Educators and Leisure-time leaders

by FCV | Mar 15, 2026 | Internships, News and experiences! | 0 comments

From March 23 to April 3, 2026, the Fundació Catalunya Voluntaria is hosting the study visit ‘Séjour Pour Adults en Formation d’Educateur-2e édition’ for a group of 20 people: 18 students enrolled in the official degree program for leaders, educators, and leisure activity facilitators and leaders, accompanied by two professors from the French organization CEMEA-Occitane, who are traveling from Montpellier.

The group, staying in El Prat de Llobregat, will visit several neighborhoods in the Barcelona metropolitan area and meet with organizations that provide activities and services to children, youth, and teenagers.

The objective of the activity is to learn through observation, exchange, and interaction, acquiring new perspectives and information by sharing practices, experiences, and approaches. The group will meet people who work with these groups and learn about their needs, challenges, and the situations they encounter.

The FCV has designed a program of exchange, meetings, and visits thanks to collaboration with a small number of organizations with whom we have worked for years (decades in some cases): non-governmental organizations (cooperatives, associations, and foundations) we have selected them because we are familiar with their track record and community impact. They represent a sector (children, teenagers, and youth) that, in the Barcelona metropolitan area, comprises more than 200 organizations.

This time, we plan to spend some time learning about the work of the ‘Meritxell Adam’ Educational Association in two different locations: the ‘Tres Tresors’ Open Center and the ‘Nou Sidecar’ youth center, where the group of students will help with games and workshops, both in Hospitalet de Llobregat.

We will take walking tours to learn about and discover the work carried out by various public and private institutions in the Raval and Poblesec neighborhoods. We will visit the FCV, meet with ‘Joves de Barcelona’ and with the ‘Bibliomusicineteca’ cultural association, among others, and use lunchtime to learn about important initiatives such as the Mescladís Foundation at the Mescladís restaurant in the ‘Teatre Lliure de Montjuïc’, and the cooperative library ‘La Raposa’.

This marks the sixth activity that the FCV has hosted in recent years in partnership with CEMEA, a leading organization in France for training leisure activity leaders and educators. All of these activities have been made possible thanks to the support of the European Commission’s Erasmus+ program and the French National Agency.
