In a context of growing awareness about the need to prevent discrimination, the Catalunya Voluntària Foundation has successfully completed a key project to establish an internal regulatory framework that ensures a safe and inclusive environment for all staff and volunteers. This project has been structured into two main sections.
The first section involved drafting and implementing a prevention protocol. Several working sessions were held to develop a preliminary draft, which was enriched through an online participatory process involving all staff and volunteers, gathering perspectives and suggestions via email and WhatsApp. After a review and validation phase—including input from both internal and external experts—the final document was published in digital and print formats, with plans to translate it into Spanish and English to ensure accessibility in an international context.
The second section led to the creation of the PURPLE AGENTS, responsible for providing support and addressing potential cases of discrimination. A specialized training session was conducted, appointing Zaklina as the first Purple Agent of FCV. Additionally, an awareness campaign was launched to introduce this role to all staff and volunteers, along with preliminary indicators to measure the effectiveness of this initiative.
Furthermore, the project included awareness-raising workshops and training in an intersectional gender perspective, as well as the creation of a specific corporate logo to enhance communication in this area. This set of actions has solidified a strong protocol that ensures a consistent response to any incidents of violence or discrimination, creating a more harmonious and respectful work environment.
The preparation of the protocol was carried out with the support of the Diputació de Barcelona, Feminismes i Igualtat, as part of the 2024 grant call for NGOs in the field of feminism and equality.
The protocol is publicly available, and you can download it by clicking here:
