In 2023 FCV hosted Queer Up!, the Contact Making Seminar designed to connect the organisations that work with differents crucial needs of LGBTQ+ community. The seminar was supposed to give rise to new ideas, collaborations and projects and we didn’t wait long, to bring it to the life. The first action that is a direct result of the Queer Up has just been approved by the Spanish National Agency of Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps INJUVE, and the first stage of it will start already this November! We are excited to announce the approval and the start of the Kay Action 2 project- Our Story- Storytelling for LGBTQ+ Wellbeing.
‘Our Story’ is the two years long action created together by EMANTES from Greece, SAPLINQ from Slovakia, PRAGUE PRIDE from Czech Republic, OSSERVATORIO DI GENERE from Italy and coordinated by FCV. The partner organisations build a unique team of professionals dedicated to different needs for LGBTQ+ community wellbeing, suches as asylum seeking, education and culture.
It is an initiative designed to, conduct a need assessment and explore the current situation of LGBTQ+ youth using Storytelling activities and techniques, develop a shared and inclusive language to discuss key issues in gender and sexuality, find out and exchange organizational good practices about LGBTQ+ active inclusion, empower the LGBTQ+ community using digital technologies, arts and media and give the example of community empowerment applicable for other minoritary groups and explore the potential of storytelling in creation of more inclusive society.
During these two years we will develop local and international actions in all 5 countries, including two international training courses and five local activities. We will create a Digital community space and collect all the learnings and good practices in the manual that will be released in 2026.
