From June 2nd to 13th, a group of 15 people, young students of children and youth sociocultural animation, have been in Barcelona (in El Prat del Llobregat and Hospitalet del Llobregat) participating in the training ‘Séjour Pour Adults en Formation d’Éducateur’ organized by the Fundació Catalunya Voluntaria in partnership with CEMEA, from June 3rd to 6th, to visit several spaces and learn about the work of professionals in the children’s, youth, social and leisure education sectors, throughout a program that we have built in communication with the professionals of CEMEA-Occitania and with a group of Catalan not-for profit organizations, with which we have already collaborated on several occasions and to whom we are sincerely grateful for having shared their work with children, teenagers, young people, and adults.
The program has emphasized communication skills and creativity, for which we have selected organizations and individuals who use fine arts, writing, drawing, performing arts, and storytelling as tools for cultural expression and active social inclusion. We also allocated time to learn about the work of organizations that run summer camps and leisure-time educational activities for individuals in vulnerable situations, as well as organizations that provide training and social support to those affected by systemic discrimination.
The collaborating organizations in the activity have been the associations Bibliomusicineteca and Raposa, the El Sortidor Civic Center (in the Poblesec neighborhood), Fundesplai (in El Prat), the Catalan Petanque Federation, and the Mescladís Foundation; the AEMA Cooperative and the Tres Tresors Open Center (in Hospitalet); the Ciutat Vella Youth Information Point and the Drassanes Civic Center (in the Raval neighborhood).
While awaiting the results of the group evaluation, we at FCV are pleased with the participation and contributions of the student group and look forward to collaborating with CEMEA to organize a future activity in the spring of next year.
Many thanks again to all who helped us: Dursun, Zaklina, Celine, Aida, Oscar, Mireia, Marta, Martín, Sara, Martina, and Lua. Thank you for sharing your good work! See you next time!
The activity was made possible thanks to the support of the European Commission’s Erasmus+ program and the French national agency.
