From October 13 to 19, 2024, the Fundació Catalunya Voluntaria-FCV organizes the international training activity ‘European Solidarity Corps-Volunteering for Peace’, a partnership-building activity with the participation of 20 people, representatives of 13 NGOs from, Algeria, Egypt, Italy, Germany, Lebanon, Morocco, Portugal, Spain, Tunisia and Turkey.

At the FCV we consider it relevant to promote new European Solidarity Corps-ESC projects in the Euro-Mediterranean space and the concept of “volunteering for peace” linked to ESC projects, which is why we are organizing this activity: to incorporate the culture of peace, education for peace and work by competencies in future ESC projects and activities that we
want to carry out with and other organizations, with the aim of helping, in this way, the young people who are protagonists of ESC projects to develop peace-related skills.

We will have a group of people with considerable experience, responsible for the management and supervision of ESC projects and we will use participatory and peer-to-peer learning methodology, to improve our conflict management skills and the ones that most can help us improve the quality of ESC projects (non-violent communication, active listening).

The FCV began preparing the activity in December 2023. Once received the support of the Erasmus+ program of the European Commission, on July the selection of the group of participants will take place, whose they will be invited to a conversation (at the end of July) and a preparatory webinar (at the beginning of September), both online.

The activity takes place in Vilanova I la Geltrú (Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain), in the Baixamar district. If climate permits, we will carry out a part of the program activities outdoors, and dedicating a day to visit Barcelona.
