The month of May has been very active at Más Fontarnau.
We welcomed a new volunteer, Sven — very young, but certainly not lacking in skills. He brings freshness and a bit more international flair to the team. And now that we are eight hands, we can do so much more. So, welcome Sven!
May has also been the month of theatre workshops, an activity that is part of our project. The first one focused on Shakespeare and Lecoq, and the second on Commedia dell’Arte and Clown. Both workshops were a valuable learning opportunity, among other things because they pushed us out of our comfort zone and allowed us to discover a different side of ourselves.
But the new doesn’t replace the old. We have continued working on our beautiful vegetable garden, which is getting bigger and more established. Lettuce, tomatoes, zucchini, cucumbers, onions, peppers, beans, pumpkins, and much more. Little by little, we are seeing the results of our work there, always learning through the practice that permaculture requires. Soon, the most beautiful and rewarding part will arrive: the harvest.
Lastly, the edible forest has also received plenty of love. We’ve planted: strawberries, asparagus, artichokes, fig trees, Jerusalem artichokes, and Swiss chard.
That’s it for the May updates — but we’ll be back soon with more news!
