From April 29 to May 14, the Fundació Catalunya Voluntària hosts a new mobility action for learning purposes in agreement with the Vasil Levsk Professional School of Agriculture, from Parvomay (Bulgaria), in partnership with the Foundation European Initiatives Center ‘Stara Zagora’ and with the support of the Erasmus+ program of the European Commission.

The visit and practical training experience ‘Green Skills in Agriculture-Studying the experience of Catalonia’, is carried out by a group of twenty students of agriculture and agricultural machinery, aged 16 and 17, who will spend two weeks doing an internship program designed by professionals from the agricultural sector, from different companies and non-profit organizations in the Garraf and Baix Penedès counties.

The young adolescents, in small groups and accompanied by the school teachers, will learn cultivation techniques through observation, carrying out simple tasks, teamwork, and communication with the supervisors, thus complementing the training technique received at school.

We plan to collaborate again with the organizations that were part of the activity carried out in May 2021, in recognition of the good work done, as well as to accommodate a new entity, to create a program in which the whole group can enjoy, participate and learn, despite language and cultural barriers, and are encouraged to share their ideas, reflections and learning throughout the activity.

The students, staying at the Hotel Cèsar, in the Baixamar neighborhood, will visit various spaces in the city, such as the Victor Balaguer Museum, the Can Papiol Romantic Museum or the Turó del Viver community garden, as well as the cities of Sitges and Barcelona.

To make the activity possible we have the help of various collaborating organizations and a group of volunteers, who carry out tasks of supervision, transport, mentoring, and translation, to whom we want to thank and thank them for their support.

The activity, coordinated by the FCV, has the support of the Bulgarian national agency, which chose the activity hosted 2 years ago by the FCV as the best activity of the year (out of more than 170), which gives us the extra challenge of not disappointing very high expectations.

If you want more information about the activity or want to collaborate, you can send us an email at projectes@catalunyavoluntaria.cat.
