The Fundació Catalunya Voluntària and the French NGO ‘Centres d’Entrainement aux Méthodes d’Education Active’-CEMEA are organizing the international training activity ‘Europe 4 All’ that takes place in Vilanova I la Geltrú (Barcelona) and the metropolitan area of Barcelona from June 16 to 21, 2024.
The group that visits us is made up of 22 students of the last (fourth) course of socio-cultural animation, aged 19 to 56, accompanied by 2 trainers, who come from the department of Pays de Loire to enjoy an intense program of exchange activities and practical training, focused on learning the work methodology of animation structures for children and young people in Catalonia.
Because of collaborating with some of the most prominent organizations in youth animation and leisure-time education (called ‘popular education’ in France and ‘non-formal education’ at the community level), we are meeting with organizations such as the Fundació Catalana de l’Esplai, the Cooperativa AEMA, the Mescladís Foundation, which are part of the program, as
well as with the help of public initiatives, such as the Garraf Youth Office ‘Oficina Jove del Garraf’, entities and programs to which we are grateful for opening the doors of the respective facilities, centers, casals, and esplais, making known, in this way, a small, but significant and varied part of the children’s and youth animation work that takes place in Catalonia.
On Monday the 17th and 18th morning we will be in Vilanova I la Geltrú, on the 18th afternoon we will be in Prat de Llobregat and Hospitalet de Llobregat, and, the following day, in Barcelona, where, to take the most out of a limited time, we will be divided the group in two, to observe closely the work of youth structures both public and private in some of the most populated neighborhoods in Europe, both in Hospitalet del Llobregat (La Florida, Santa Eulàlia) and Barcelona (Ciutat Vella).
We are grateful to CEMEA for the trust given to the FCV in terms of logistical organization, selecting the organizations and accommodation, as well as in the pedagogical coordination, creating the itineraries, and collaborating on the contents of the program. We hope the group enjoys the longest days of the year and an enriching practical training experience and learns from the passion and experiences of monitors, educators, and NGO managers.
This activity is carried out in partnership between both organizations, with the support of the Erasmus+ program of the European Commission and the French national agency.
