As part of the international initiative 'Amani Pamoja', from November 27th to December 3rd, the Fundació Catalunya Voluntaria is hosting the 'Amani Pamoja' international training course, dedicated to improving skills for advocacy and forming alliances to implement the Youth, Peace, and Security agenda.
The course focuses on developing skills for social and political advocacy on peace topics and to influence policies related to the implementation of Youth, Peace, and Security agenda.
We will do that by sharing information, tools, as well as fostering exchange, collaboration, and learning among participants, who will have the opportunity to learn about some of the leading initiatives, networks, and organizations addressing peace issues in their respective countries and in both continents: Africa and Europe.
This is particularly special activity because we will have the opportunity to host in Vilanova I la Geltrú (Barcelona) 12 young people from three East African countries—Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda—, selected from hundreds of applicants, whose will join a group of 24 participants, along with young leaders from Germany, Italy, and Spain.
We can offer 4 places for residents throughout Spain.
The requirements to participate are:
- Age: between 18 and 29 years old. We can only accept applications from people born between November 27, 1997, and November 27, 2008.
- Legal residency in Spain.
- Affiliation with a non-profit, non-governmental organization, youth-led or youth-focused.
- Some experience working on peace issues and social and/or political advocacy.
- Ability to communicate in English fluently.
The EU grant covers all expenses, including round-trip transportation to Vilanova i la Geltrú, accommodation, meals, materials, and transportation during the activity. No registration or participation fee is required.
It is compulsory for participants to attend 3 preparatory online webinars, held in October and November (lasting a maximum of two hours each).
To register for the activity, please complete the online registration form at this link.
The application period ends on September 16th, but we recommend completing the form as soon as possible, as we reserve the right to select the four participants for the course before this deadline.
All registered participants will be notified of the selection results by email. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a brief online conversation of approximately 15 minutes before their selection is confirmed.
