Tereza, an ESC volunteer at FCV, recently had the opportunity to take part in the First Arrival Training, together with other volunteers from different parts of Spain. The training was a great opportunity to learn more about the ESC experience, share first impressions and, most importantly, meet other people who are going through a similar journey. Here, Tereza shares a few impressions from the experience and some of the things she took away from it.
At the end of July, I took part in the online First Arrival Training of the European Solidarity Corps. Even though it was held entirely online, it was a very interactive and engaging experience.
The training covered different aspects of living in Spain and participating in the ESC programme, while also including activities that helped us get to know each other better. We also had the opportunity to attend Spanish language sessions and exchange experiences with other volunteers living in different cities across Spain.
For me, the best part was meeting people who are going through a similar experience. It was really interesting to hear their stories, share our first impressions and challenges, and realise that, even though each of us has a different journey, we have many experiences in common.
