Toolbox for Active Volunteering

Dear colleagues,

Fundació Catalunya Voluntària invites you to participate in a series of workshops for the creation of the Toolbox for Active Volunteering.

Since its beginning and throughout its history, FCV has always carried out programs and actions aimed at supporting young people who want to participate in voluntary actions. We did so promoting a type of voluntary activities that are inclusive and participatory, capable of providing young people with a learning experience and answering their interests.

The project “Voluntariado Activo-Estrategia Europa 2020” has as its main objective to offer useful tools and resources to other Catalan non-profit and voluntary based organizations to open their doors to young people interested in taking on a leading role in organizing volunteering activities and programs, as well as being an active part in sustainable activities with a tangible social impact and a high added value.

One of the main activities of the project is the creation of the Toolbox for an Active Volunteering, which will take place in June and July.

Three times per month, FCV will carry out training workshops that revolve around the elements that increase the quality of youth volunteering programs.

The workshops will include practical training on various tools, activities and resources about volunteering management and some theories and charts as well. The workshops are structured in such a way that NGO representatives (volunteer managers, mentors and educators) will be able to rediscover the huge potential of the voluntary actions when involving young people. The workshops will focus both on how such actions can have a benefit for young people, including those with fewer opportunities, and how they have a positive effect on the development of the organization itself.

The activities will include workshops, games, presentations, group exercises and debates, among other activities, based on non formal and peer-to-peer learning methodology.

All the workshops will take place from 4pm to 8pm in Casa del Mar, c/ Albareda 1-13, Barcelona.

The registration and participation in the workshops are free.

The participants will have the opportunity to actively participate in the sessions and contribute with their own knowledge and experience. They will also be co-creators of the new resources that will be published online this year, as a result of the training workshops.

They will also have the chance to receive some advice on how to put into practice in their organization what they learned during the workshops.
