Learn through Volunteering: What and How?

En mayo 2015, la FCV acogió el curso de formación internacional “Aprender haciendo voluntariado: ¿Qué y Cómo?” (Learn through Volunteering: What and How?), que reunió a 21 jóvenes, representantes de 14 entidades no lucrativas de 13 países de Europa (Alemania, Italia, Eslovenia, Bulgaria, Rumanía, Grecia, Turquía, Malta, Estonia, Letonia, Polonia y República Checa).

El curso tuvo lugar del 16 al 23 de mayo de 2015 con la finalidad de mejorar el contenido educativo de las actividades y proyectos de voluntariado realizados por las entidades promotoras, tanto en el ámbito local como internacional. Los objetivos del curso eran aprender a reconocer y dar valor a los aprendizajes que las entidades están ofreciendo a las personas voluntarias que participan en sus actividades.

Los trabajadores juveniles, gestores de voluntariado, mentores y formadores seleccionados compartieron información, experiencias y buenas prácticas y conocieron nuevos métodos para que las personas jóvenes que son voluntarias descubran y desarrollen intereses y competencias para mejorar su perfil laboral y tener más opciones para encontrar trabajo en Europa.

El curso sirvió también para que las entidades puedan ofrecer un apoyo adaptado a las necesidades de las personas jóvenes, teniendo en cuenta sus dificultades para participar en iniciativas de voluntariado y sus necesidades educativas y de acceso al mercado laboral.

El curso hizo posible que todas las entidades puedan hacer planes de voluntariado que incluyan de forma relevante aspectos de formación y de inclusión social activa.

El curso era parte de la estrategia de la FCV de promover activamente el voluntariado activo y educativo, reconociendo su valor como experiencia de formación no reglada y favoreciendo nuevas modalidades de voluntariado adaptadas a las necesidades de personas jóvenes con menos oportunidades y en situación de vulnerabilidad.

El curso contó con el apoyo del programa Erasmus+ de la Comisión Europea y tuvo lugar en Vilanova i la Geltrú (Barcelona).

In May 2015 Fundació Catalunya Voluntària hosted the international training course “Learn through volunteering: What and How?” where 21 young people, representing of 14 non-profit NGOs from 13 countries in Europe (Germany, Italy, Slovenia, Bulgaria, Romania, Greece, Turkey, Malta, Estonia, Latvia, Poland, Spain and Czech Republic) gathered together.

The course took place from the 16^th to the 23^rd of May 2015 and it aimed at improving the educational content of the volunteering activities and projects carried out by the promoting organizations, both locally and internationally. The objective of the course was learning to recognize and appreciate the learning programs that the various organizations offer to the volunteers engaged in their activities.

The selected youth workers, volunteering actions managers, mentors and trainers shared information, experiences and good practices, and also learnt new methodologies and management tools in order to help young people to discover and develop specific interests and capabilities. These, will be used to improve their work profile and to have more chances to find a job, in their countries and all over Europe.

The course also aimed at enabling the organization to give young people a kind of support adjusted to their needs, keeping in mind the difficulties they encounter while participating in volunteering initiatives, as well as their needs, both on a educational and professional point of view.

The course made it possible for the organizations to plan their volunteering actions in a way that will include relevant aspects of active social inclusion and education.

The course was part of FCV strategy of promotion of active and educational volunteering: we recognize its value as an experience of non-formal learning. We also encourage new ways of volunteering, that are adjusted to the needs of young people with fewer opportunities and who find themselves in a vulnerable situation.

The training course relied on the support of the Erasmus+ program of the European Commission and took place in Vilanova i La Geltrú (Barcelona).
