From the 23rd to the 30th of August 2016, FCV will organize the youth exchange “Empowering for Change”. The exchange will take place in the coastal town of Molí de Mar, in the Light Tower beach of Vilanova i la Geltrú and will be attended by 21 young people from Catalonia, Greece and Latvia.

The exchange aims at encouraging people to understand that they must be willing to change if they want to learn.

The 5 main objectives of the youth exchange are:

  • Rediscover the joy of playing and being spontaneous as a source of learning;
  • Give value to self-knowledge in order to manage our priorities, our time and the tool we have available in a better way;
  • Give value to communication as a source for learning how to use different communication styles (according to each situation) and for learning how to communicate in a clearer, more precise and more confident way;
  • Give value to thinking as a source for learning how to use different thinking styles (according to each situation) and for learning how to think in a more positive, creative and critical way.

044706We will carry out a series of activities that will serve to improve the different communication and thinking styles, as well as the idea of learning to learn. For this reason, some time will be dedicated to identify new talents, rediscover one’s interests and reflect on which are the challenges (personal, educational and professional) that motivate or worry us the most, as a first step to get involved in new projects and have a better control and initiative on the things that affect us.

At the same time, the exchange will give to the participants the opportunity to live an experience of solidarity and team work, where they will be able to express their ideas and develop the abilites and attitudes that they will deem more useful to get into the job market, for example.

The activity will explore the huge potential of non formal learning and the importance of sharing information and experiences among the participants, with the aim of acquiring new perspectives and gain greater motivation and inspiration.

The activity is the result of the collaboration between FCV and the organization “United Societies of Balkans – USB” (from Thessaloniki) and the European association “World at Our Home” (from Rezekne) and will take place with the support of the Erasmus+ program of the European Commission.
