The 27th of June, I met for the last time my dear “students” for the workshop about French conversation. After two month of regular meeting, we end up to the beautiful Laberint d’Horta.
As a volunteer in the Fundació Catalunya Voluntària, I had to organize a workshop to share my skills with local people. As a French girl, I decided to organize a French conversation workshop, to spread my language.
The aim was to allowed young people from Barcelona, with a A2-B1 level, to practice French and improve their skill in an informal way. I also wanted to meet them in different places in Barcelona, to not be locked like in a classroom.
First, I was a little bit afraid: it was the first time that I organised a workshop. Also, I was scared to not be good enough to keep interested a group of people and make them come back every week for a month.
Finally, I met seven youngsters between 18 and 30 years old, every Wednesday for 1 hour 30 minutes, during two months. And I truly enjoyed it! It was the opportunity to share my language and culture, meet new people, create bonds and help other to increase their own language competences.
I was sad at the end of the last session, but as we said in France: “Ce n’est qu’un au revoir!”!
