Volunteering for Peace

Fundació Catalunya Voluntària is pleased to announce  that from the 12th to 19th of December it will host the latest training course of the Peace Bag for EuroMed Youth network in the seaside town of Vilanova i la Geltrú, 45 km south of Barcelona.

peacebagThe capacity building activity ‘Volunteering for Peace’ aims at promoting peace building, conflict transformation and intercultural learning in youth work. 21 representatives of organizations from 10 different countries in the European and Mediterranean region will attend this event.

The key objective of this training course is, among the others, the development and promotion of the abilities of the participating organizations to fully realize the potential of the European Voluntary Service (EVS) infov4pas a key instrument in their work  to promote volunteering in the region and reinforce the network.

The participants in the week-long course will also have the opportunity to hear the experts’ point of view and share their own experiences on topics such as the implementation of awareness campaigns, the organization of workshops and discussions, the creation of new resources and products. It will also increase their capacities to encourage other young people and NGOs to participate in new initiatives of peace building by offering clear learning incentives, and by increasing the quality of the support and mentoring system available.

It is guaranteed that this meeting will bring a diverse selection of experiences and viewpoints to the table with participants from Egypt, Jordan, Palestine, Lebanon, Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria, Holland, United Kingdom and Spain all set to take part.

The project takes place with the support of the Erasmus+ program of the European Commission and the Spanish National Agency.
