From January 23 to January 26, the FCV will participate in the first transnational meeting of the ‘Transformers-A Age of Youth’ project, a cooperation initiative for innovation, exchange of best practices and capacity building, coordinated by the Kosovar entity LENS and fostered by a total of 10 non-profit and youth organizations from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Albania, North Macedonia, Croatia, Italy, Lithuania, Catalonia, and Kosovo, including entities with a long international trajectory, two international networks, a union of youth workers and a social cooperative.
The meeting will serve to discuss and settle the main activities of the one-year project, the objectives of which are:
- exploring and making the most of the potential of digital technologies to encourage young people to participate in peacebuilding, conflict prevention, and transformation initiatives,
- developing skills to create and develop new digital tools and content to promote dialogue, intercultural learning and the acceptance of diversity.
Organizations we plan to use existing digital platforms to facilitate greater accessibility to existing resources and to new ones that we plan to create throughout the project. We also plan to host a two-day Hackathon and create a virtual digital book, featuring real-life experience and original fiction stories.
Being the FCV one of the promoters of the project, young leaders and NGO representatives, over 18 years old and residents in Catalonia, will have the opportunity to participate in 3 international training courses, lasting one week each, that will take place throughout 2020, in Kosovo, Serbia and Albania, supported by the European Commission’s Erasmus + program. Courses aim to improve their digital skills, intercultural, conflict management, media literacy, and organizational competences, among others.
