On June 27, the ordinary meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Fundació Catalunya Voluntaria took place at the Hotel Cèsar, in Vilanova I la Geltrú (Barcelona), with the participation of 13 people, including those who hold the governing bodies of the FCV.
Josep Maria, FCV president, made the welcoming and proposed the agenda of the meeting, on which participated both FCV vice-presidents: Marta and Michel; the treasurer: Jaume, the secretary: Lluc, and the vice-secretary: Eduard; accompanied by 4 FCV patrons: Montserrat, Agustí, Joaquim and Tomàs. The trustees who did not participate excused their absence, due to professional commitments or for being outside of Catalonia.
The main decisions were to increase the number of members of the Board of Trustees to 25, to accommodate people with different backgrounds, points of view, and proposals, making the Board of Trustees an even more diverse and plural body; approve the 2022 report and the 2022 balance sheet and income statement, which confirms the trend of improvement of economic and financial data in post-pandemic times.
At the meeting, we reported the situation, organizational changes, and the action plan; and we approved the 2023 budget. We explained the programs we have carried out in the last year, and the ones we plan to continue, as well as the new programs, projects, and activities we are preparing.
At the meeting, we welcomed the three new patrons, each one presented by a member of the Board of Trustees, who are already part of a ‘luxury’ Board of Trustees, as they have people with backgrounds, knowledge, and skills really exceptional.
At the FCV, we are glad to have trustees with the background, experience, and commitment to civil society of Soraya Hidalgo, University teacher and member of the board of Engineers without Borders; with Gerard Figueras, former director of Sports, and with Joanaina Escalas, director of the Hotel Cèsar, writer and activist, with whom the FCV has collaborated for decades in the organization of international activities.
As a common practice, once the meeting was over, we take the opportunity to catch up and talk about several topics, until 8 in the afternoon, highlighting the good atmosphere that exists among the FCV board members.
