Did you know that, in many European countries, when students finish high school, they decide to take a gap year before entering the University?
Why in a country like Spain this trend is not well seen or does it not directly occur to us to do a gap year?
The gap year should not be a waste of time, but quite the opposite, it is a good way to get to know oneself, to live experiences and most importantly to learn to be self-sufficient and self-taught.
Imagine that now you have the opportunity to go anywhere in Europe to do an internship or a volunteering and at the same time share your culture and learn from many others, share experiences and make friends from all over the world.
Now the idea of the gap year haexpes changed, right? Well, thanks to the Fundació Catalunya Voluntària and the European Commission with the collaboration of Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps- ESC program you can carry it out.
You have the opportunity to do an European Volunteering (ESC), between 2 and 12 months, to any part of Europe, and ¿do you know what the best is? Each and every project is granted by the European Commission.
Now maybe you’re thinking ” It’s too long, I do not want to leave so much time”, so don’t worry, we also offer projects up to 21 days, the so-called ”youth exchanges ”, is a good way to spend some days in a multicultural environment, with youngsters from other regions of the world, promoting intercultural learning and developing competences through non-formal education.
But if what you really want is to grow in your professional sector, you are in luck because you can also participate in the TLN Mobilicat program, where for 3 months you can do an internship, put in practise what really motivates you, while you learn and acquire job experience in another European country. The TLN is granted by the SOC (Public Employment Service of Catalonia) and by the European Social Fund-ESF.
” All this, it’s very nice, but for sure I need to have high level of a foreign language ‘‘…the answer is no, the only requirement to be able to participate is to be between 18 and 30 years old, and in the case you want to do an internship abroad, be enrolled in youth guarantee.
