The Fundació Catalunya Voluntària-FCV organizes the study visit Tools and Mechanisms for Youth Participation from 10 to 16 June. The meeting takes place within the framework of a key action for the exchange of good practices and innovation in the field of youth, entitled Empower for change, This is a two years project promoted by the FCV and 3 more entities, from Italy, Austria and Georgia, and carried out thanks to the support of the Erasmus + program of the European Commission.
The visit will bring together 18 people, responsible for the local public administration and non-profit and non-governmental entities, from Georgia and Catalonia, interested in discovering the tools, practices and mechanisms that favor the active youth participation in different types of citizen, community, social, cultural, political and social transformation initiatives. The group is leaded by the mayors of 4 Georgian municipalities, as well as by the director of Academy for Peace and Development, a leader entity of the initiative, with whom the FCV has collaborated for over more than a decade. Besides, 8 young Catalans will collaborate, to find out more about mechanisms and tools for youth participation.
Over the course of a week, the group will discover the applicable regulations, which are the structures, spaces, resources and collaborative processes that work best, within the public administration and in association with other agents and participation bodies, such as youth organizations or youth councils. In addition to visits and meetings, the activity programme includes workshops, debates and an event open to the public, in which we plan to present the results and conclusions of the visit.
We offer the possibility to participate to three young people. The requirements are: to be available to participate in the activities of the program, morning and afternoon, from June 11 to 15; be a resident of Catalonia; to be more than 18 years and have sufficient knowledge of English to communicate.
