Rebecca Hovhannisyan, the European Voluntary Service volunteer from Armenia here in the FCV, organized, in partnership with ACAB – Armenian Cultural Association of Barcelona, the semi-formal event “1 Hour in Armenia”. During the event, she introduced us to Armenian culture by providing general information about the country and stating the reasons why someone should visit and explore Armenia in-depth. The event took place on 19th of May, 2016 at the “Casa Armenia” in Barcelona, which hosted around ten attendees f various nationalities residing and working in the city.
The event was composed of a presentation and interactive interactions. First of all, an Armenian traditional music was played on piano and a very comprehensive but brief video entitled “Why Armenia?” was shown.
Afterwards, Rebecca showed an interactive presentation called “25 reasons why YOU SHOULD NEVER EVER visit Armenia” in order to challenge the audience. However, if the attendees decide to visit marvellous Armenia one day, she also introduced a very interesting list with extraordinary things that could be done for free in Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. An example? Going to a specific hairdressing salon and getting a new haircut for free or having a free cycling tour in and around the city!
The event ended with an informal reception with typical Armenian food.
